Getting to Port Campbell and the 12 Apostles by public transport is a process that requires some advance planning.

Getting here from Melbourne
Monday, Wednesday and Friday

Enjoy the iconic journey of the Great Ocean Road! Grab the train early from Melbourne Southern Cross to Geelong and board the connecting coach for that Great Ocean Road experience. After breaking in Apollo Bay for lunch, the bus will bring you via the 12 Apostles and Loch Ard Gorge for a mid to late afternoon arrival in Port Campbell!

Thursday and Saturday

Volcanos, lakes and bicycle trails... all before you even arrive! Take the early morning V-Line Train from Melbourne SouthernCross to the historic centre of Camperdown. You will know it is time to get up off your seat when you see the impressive forms of dormant volcanoes rising out of the rural landscapes.
You will get a great view of these volcanoes rising up above the town from the public bus that picks you up from
the train station to take you. to Timboon, our gourmet food hub!
Alternatively, work up an appetite and hire a bike! The Camperdown to Timboon Rail Trail will take you on a journey dotted with statuesque trestle bridges and spellbinding scenery.
Take some time to enjoy the local produce in Timboon before meeting your taxi to bring you the last 17km of the way to Port Campbell later in the afternoon!

Not in the mood for gourmet food? Travel on a Thursday and stay on the train until Warrnambool and catch a connecting bus towards Port Campbell!
Friday and Sunday
Head down after work on Friday or set off after a jam packed city weekend on Sunday night with the evening trains from Southern Cross Station to Camperdown on the Warrnambool Line. Watch the volcanic mounts lit up in the moonlight as you pull in to the historic station building to join your connecting bus to Timboon. Spend the night in Timboon and rest up for exploring on the coast the next day or book a connecting taxi to bring you down to our coastline that night and be ready to go the next morning! Enjoy the journey!

Getting home
Monday, Wednesday and Friday
You can't get sick of the Great Ocean Road! Head back on the V-line bus from Port Campbell to Melbourne Southern Cross via Geelong. With stops at 12 Apostles, Loch Ard Gorge and Apollo Bay you get a taste of great things on the way!

Carrying on West? Pick up the V-line bus and carry on to Warrnambool.
Thursday and Saturday
Let's get rural and head back on the adventure through Timboon and Camperdown. Book a taxi to Timboon in order to either hire a bike or pick up the public bus to meet the train at Camperdown. Back in Melbourne you will be amazed by the variety of landscapes and flora you have seen on your journey from the coast, through the craters to the city!

Friday and Sunday
Want to spend the weekend with us and be back in Melbourne for Monday morning? Book a taxi to Timboon and catch the connecting bus to the train station in Camperdown and the evening train back to Melbourne.
Want to be in the city for the weekend and spend your week relaxing with us? No problem! Book your taxi on a Friday evening and you will be on the Camperdown bus, and then the Melbourne train heading for the weekend festivities!
