  • A Family destination

    A Family destination

A great shorefront playground and children's riding loop immediately marks Peterborough as a family friendly destination. The tennis courts are often alive with family challenge matches until the smell from the BBQ draws everybody from the court. Use our award winning Craters to Coast Discovery program to keep the kids entertained in and around the National Park.

  • Fishing

    Fishing

A great selection of locations for Surf Fishing and in the estuary of the Curdies River. A fishing platform just north of the bridge is popular with families. Newfield Bay can be accessed from the east side of the bridge via a carpark when the mouth of the river is open. Click here for more detail on local fishing options.

  • Golf

    Golf

Peterborough Golf Course would have to be in the running for the most scenic links course in Victoria. Views east to London Bridge and west to Bay of Islands are sure to lower your blood pressure if not your handicap! Watch for tricky winds and do your best not to land a ball in the Southern Ocean.

  • Shipwrecks

    Shipwrecks

Place names around Peterborough are often tied to nearby shipwrecks. Look for names like Newfield Bay, Halladale Point, Antares Rock and Schomberg Reef. You can read about some of the wrecks on signs erected on the headland. Click here to connect to the Lighthouses, museum, displays and sites where the wrecks occured.

  • Boating

    Boating

The Curdies River is navigable for about 18km upstream of the mouth. A fish cleaning table at the concrete boat ramp just north of the bridge is well used by happy anglers returning from an upstream jaunt. Please observe speed limits and channel markers. Those heading upstream need to be aware of a water skiing area and faster moving vessels near Curdievale.
