The Timboon Whisky Experience.
Located just a short drive inland from the inspiring 12 Apostles and Port Campbell, Timboon is a booming country town with loads of charm. The distillery is located in the ‘heart of the village’.
Our whisky, made on site, is a true, small batch single malt whisky distilled in a 600 litre copper pot still using Australian malted barley. Distiller and owner Josh Walker draws on inspiration from the great single malts of Scotland and the Isles. Our whisky is aged in heavily charred, American or French Oak barrels which are predominantly ex port casks. We are geographically located with ideal seasonal conditions for making and ageing whisky.
With a local, colourful illicit distilling history in the past, there are lots of stories to be told and the old railway shed is a destination in itself. We produce a range of single malt whiskies, a Vanilla Vodka, Strawberry Schnapps, Limoncello, and our famous Coffee Cream liqueur.
Providing a real ‘sense of place’ our rustic venue also offers great regional food fare with lunch on our covered deck daily.
Our provedore stocks an abundance of local and regional produce including our own Abecketts Creek Beef farmed locally by the distiller and his family.
Whether you choose our signature Port Expression single malt with it’s smooth and sweet notes, our award winning cask strength Christie’s Cut that delivers boldness and extended finish or a limited Governor’s Reserve bottling, you are sure to enjoy our range. Hand crafted by the Walker family with obvious passion in every small batch.
With some of the world’s most spectacular coastline close by, the wonderful Camperdown to Timboon rail trail and lot’s of accommodation options in the area, Timboon is an ideal location to base yourself for exploring the great South West. We are part of the wonderful 12 Apostles Food Artisan Trail and the distillery is located directly across the creek from Timboon Fine ice cream.
