By Train & Bus
Bus & Train via Melbourne:
Train services operated by V/Line are available from Melbourne to Ballarat on the hour where you can take the V/Line Bus service to Lake Bolac twice daily at 10am or 7:50pm
The Melbourne to Ballarat train line departs from Southern Cross Station in Melbourne's CBD.

Bus & Train via Adelaide:
The Overland Train offers 2 weekly services, Monday & Friday, from Adelaide to Ararat where you can take the 30 minute V/Line Bus service to Lake Bolac the following day, at 2.20pm on a Tuesday or at 8.40pm on a Saturday.
The Adelaide to Ararat train line departs from the Adelaide Parklands Terminal on the outskirts of Adelaide's CBD.
