Top stops along the way
Volcanic Lakes & Plains
Follow meandering roads north from the coast to explore sublime volcanic landscapes and charming inland towns. Enjoy the contrast of conical peaks and deep crater lakes that punctuate the even carpet of rolling farmland. Dry Stone walls dissect the landscape, an aesthetic and practical solution to farm a landscape strewn with scoria. Charming towns with well preserved buildings and tended avenues of elm, oak and plane provide visions of England on volcanic plain.
Authentic rural heartland just 25km north of the 12 Apostles. Close to 12 Apostles Gourmet Trail businesses including Apostle Whey Cheese and GORGE Chocolate.
In response to the pandemic Coronavirus COVID-19 The Twelve Apostles Visitor Centre and lookouts will be closed to visitors immediately 20/03/2020. The carpark and toilets at the Visitor Centre will remain open. Access to the Great Ocean Road and other Port Campbell National Park visitor attractions including Loch Ard Gorge, London Bridge and Great Otway National Park are currently unaffected.
Loch Ard Gorge
Offshore stacks, blowholes and the indescribable beauty of formations like the Razorback and Island arch make this precinct the one with the lot.
A large coastal village located just a few minutes drive from Loch Ard Gorge and the 12 Apostles. It is host to some fantastic dining experiences, shops and a beautiful protected beach and bay. Stay and see the sunset from the Jetty (there are so many sunset experiences in the area you'll have to stay a few nights!)
